car park library

The project is an exploration of how multi-storey car parks can be designed in the future, taking into account the opportunities given in a future of zero emission self-driving cars. The main aim of the project is to address the building typology’s inherent social unsustainability by rethinking car parks as not just places for cars, but also for people.

The concept of the project is to combine a car park with a social typology to make it socially sustainable.

Rooms on Wheels

The possibility of self-driving enables the form of the car to not have to look like a car. Future self-driving cars can be designed as Rooms on Wheels that can be used by people when parked.

Car Capsules

Different Configurations

The Car Capsule integrates seating, furniture, and a visual barrier. Each Room on Wheels has 4 capsules, which can be arranged into different configurations of privacy depending on the function.
